Bioshort sutures are indicated for the approximation and/or ligation of the soft tissues, blood vessels and muscles. They can be used in gastrointestinal, plastic and reconstructive surgery, urology, gynecology and obstetrics. Not indicated for cardiovascular tissues, on the central nervous system, microsurgery and ophthalmic surgery.

Suture tensile strenght
COLORED: 70% in one week; 40% in two weeks; 12% in three weeks; 3% in four weeks.
UNCOLORED: 80% in one week; 40% in two weeks; 15% in three weeks; 4% in four weeks.
Happens by hydrolysis and is complete in about 90 - 110 days.
